We are looking for a Process & Formulation Scientist who will join our team.

The Process & Formulations Scientist will support product development from bench-top experiments to commercial launch with minimal oversight. They will play a key role in innovating growing media technologies and other garden focused products. Responsibilities include discovering new raw materials inputs and technologies, developing new products and processes, improving existing formulations, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. The Scientist/Engineer will align technologies with consumer and business needs, contributing to our strategy by providing expertise as a project champion and thought leader. This role involves collaboration with Packaging Development, Biology, Marketing, Sourcing, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams.

In this role you will :

Hands on development and validation of new formulations at lab, pilot, and manufacturing scales in accordance with all applicable compliance requirements (e.g. FIFRA, OMRI). Create, route, and review raw material and formula specifications

Document, analyze, and report data to cross-functional teams, peers, and leadership making recommendations on path forward.

Collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure alignment on project goals and maximize efficient use of resources versus milestones and commercialization schedules.

Oversee plant trials of new processes and new products and provide technical support to operations, quality, and contract manufacturing for new or current formulations

Coaches and develops the technical skills of peers or junior associates. Assists with identifying career development opportunities and developing a succession plan.

What you'll need to be successful:

Bachelor's Degree, Chemistry , Engineering or equivalent, Chemical Engineering preferred

4 - 7 Years of experience prefered

Years of experience required may vary based on the highest level of education completed. Example: Bachelor's degree with 4-7 years of qualified experience, Master's Degree with 2-4 years of qualified experience, and Ph.D with 0-1 year of relevant experience

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $77,200.00 - $90,800.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
