Job Description

AbbVie Process Chemistry is seeking an Associate Scientist I to work under the mentorship of a supervisor and support process research and development of small molecules, including peptides, from pre-clinical through early clinical phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • With supervision, the candidate will conduct process development and characterization for peptides and other modalities as a member of chemistry teams.
  • The candidate will be responsible for generating and analyzing precise, reliable, and reproducible data in a timely manner, with the direction of a more senior scientific leader.
  • The candidate will maintain laboratories and shared instruments including peptide synthesizers, UPLC's, and LCMS's in working order through periodic routine maintenance.
  • The candidate will manage laboratory equipment and chemical inventories to support the synthesis of peptides and small molecules.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field with laboratory experience.
  • Excellent written communication, oral communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
