Laboratory Technician

Kelly Science is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a growing company located in Durham, NC.

Pay: $22/hour
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:30pm
Employment Type: Temp-to-hire

Job Duties Include:

• Performing extractions, distillations, separations and other lab experiments utilizing rotovaps, columns, etc.
  
• Performing quality control testing on raw materials, in-process, and finished products utilizing instrumentation such as pH meters, Karl Fischer Titrator, density meters, refractometers, and Gas Chromatography.
  
• Performing quality control testing on raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
  
• Managing development, pilot trials, and scale up for new products.
  
• Preparing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and product specifications for new products.
  
• Developing new products or modifying to match based on formulations and flavor.
  
• Performing method development and troubleshooting for Gas Chromatography.
  
• Preparing sample blends for customers, leads or third party testing labs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a scientific related field
  
• 3-5 years of laboratory experience within a chemistry-based laboratory
  
• Previous experience with extractions, distillations, and separations strongly preferred.
  
• Must work well independently and be able to prioritize tasks efficiently.
