Postdoc Research Associate - Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Appointment Type: Post Doc/Trainee Job Description: Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Computer Science at the Iowa State University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or cybersecurity. We invite qualified candidates to participate in cutting-edge research in the area of AI and/or cybersecurity. Candidates should have strong oral and written communication skills. The expected start date is Fall 2025, and the initial appointment is one year, but can be renewed contingent upon performance and funding.

Job duties include:

• Conduct cutting-edge research in the areas of AI and/or cybersecurity.
• Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in research projects.
• Participate in proposal development and grant writing to support ongoing and future research initiatives.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in current trends of Artificial Intelligence (AI), such as large language models
• Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity with a focus on AI
• Demonstrated experience with the development of research ideas
• Demonstrated ability to work on projects independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
• Demonstrated research record including publications
