What You Will Do**
**We are seeking a Graduate Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary team to conduct research on the science and technology of desalination and separation process. The aim of the project is to study the fundamental behavior of salt ions and other impurities in aqueous solutions, including the trace elements and hydrocarbons found in water co-produced with oil and gas. The current field of interest for the project is the physical, chemical, and electrical investigation of the behavior of dissolved ions and impurities in both high density, liquid-like, and low density, vapor-like, aqueous fluids at high temperatures and pressures. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with other experimental and theoretical/computational scientists. There will be extensive opportunities to work in a wide range of areas and to innovate.**
Experience in process modeling, system designing, and optimization of different chemical and mechanical processes including desalination, water treatment, and other chemical separation processes will be considered as important assets.
Candidates with experience and keen interest in desalination science and technology are strongly encouraged to apply.

Education: Candidates must have completed all PhD requirements by commencement of the appointment and must be within the last five years of completion of the PhD, specializing in physics, applied physics, geophysics, materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, geochemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
