Purification Scientist - Chromatography

Ecolab is seeking a Purification Scientist-Chromatography to develop chromatography processes to advance technical platforms that meet both business and customer needs. In this position, you will be responsible for leading and executing chromatography experiments aimed at the industrial purification of monoclonal antibodies. You will collaborate closely with field and laboratory-based technical teams to design, execute, and communicate results from process development studies. The ideal candidate will be an adept bench scientist with practical expertise in preparative chromatography. They should exhibit excellent collaboration and teamwork capabilities and possess the ability to work independently and proactively.

What You Will Do:

  • Routinely author protocols and reports for process development studies for purification of monoclonal antibodies.

  • Design and execute bench-scale experiments using AKTA and other bench-scale chromatography systems.

  • Perform process screening and optimization experiments using a Tecan Te-Chrom high-throughput system.

  • Analyze samples using ceSDS, UPLC/HPLC, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, PCR, spectrophotometry and other appropriate analytical tools to determine product purity and non-product related impurities.

  • Maintaining accurate records and interpreting data to provide detailed information and analysis on the execution of experiments

  • Follow all procedures established in the lab to ensure efficiency and safety.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry or related degree and 5 years, MS, and 3 years or PhD

  • 3 years of demonstrated experience in chromatography process development for commercial scale purification of antibodies is a must-have.

  • Demonstrated strong theoretical and fundamental knowledge of chromatography

  • The ability to exhibit a high level of attention to detail and a quality-minded approach to all record keeping

  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry or related degree

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of statistics

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $83,600.00 - $125,400.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
