Laboratory Technician

Summary:

• Participate in the sample preparation and HPLC & GC testing for the present analytical requests.
• Primary activities include execution of technical work under general supervision of senior technical staff. This will include carrying out chromatography sample preparation and testing as well as basic data analysis by HPLC & GC.
• This position will require development of a detailed understanding of chromatographic theory.

1. Sample preparation 30%

2. Setup and execute experiments 30%

3. Analyze data 25%

4. Follow safe laboratory practices and keep areas clean 10%

5. Participate in Department meetings and other R&D facility activities 5%

• Identification of safe laboratory practices
• Supervisor defined latitude for changes on assigned projects.

Requirements:

• Essential: BS in Chemistry with 1-5 years of industry experience, or fresh MS in chemistry.
• Preferred: Familiarization with Agilent OpenLAB and ChemStation HPLC & GC software.

Additional Information: This position is for a scientist with good skills and interests in bench-level technical work and basic HPLC background.
