- Conduct physical lab tests on fabrics to determine properties such as shrinkage and stretchability.
- Perform mathematical calculations regarding fabric dimensions.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintain records.
- Recognize and correct errors in testing procedures and results.
- Understand and adhere to specifications, procedures, and testing methods.
- Follow sampling procedures accurately.
- Calculate and list test results on appropriate forms.
- Use rulers and tape measures for precise measurements.
- Calibrate equipment as per defined procedures.
- Assist in training new associates as required.
- Experience in QC testing and lab technology.
- Knowledge in biology, physical testing, and chemistry.
- Proficiency in quality control, inspection, and assurance.
- Skill in measurements, calculations, and calibrations.
- Familiarity with textiles and related testing.
- An AS or BS degree in Chemistry or Textiles is preferred, though experience may substitute for educational qualifications.
- Experience working in an industrial laboratory setting.
- Willingness to work holidays, weekends, after hours, and during shutdown weeks as required.
The work environment involves close proximity with other team members and flexibility to fill in other areas as needed. Candidates must be comfortable with wet chemistry tasks. Employees may need to work extra hours due to increased workload from other plants.
