responsibilities:
- Develop complex in vitro models that replicate the pathophysiology of immune-mediated skin diseases, with a focus on skin autoimmunity.
- Design, internalize, and optimize new methodologies using skin-on-a-chip and other microphysiological systems.
- Apply in vitro models to evaluate and advance novel therapeutics and combination strategies.
- Independently identify and solve technical challenges; propose and implement innovative experimental approaches.
- Generate, analyze, and interpret experimental data; communicate findings clearly across internal teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of experimental protocols and results.
- Collaborate closely in a cross-functional, multidisciplinary environment and support ongoing discovery efforts.
- Contribute to scientific publications, presentations, and potentially patent filings.
- Stay current with advances in the field and incorporate relevant techniques or insights into project work.
qualifications:
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, Master's with 6+ years, or PhD with 0+ years of relevant experience
- Extensive experience with primary cell culture , including keratinocytes, dermal fibroblasts, organoids, and human immune cells
- Strong hands-on experience with in vitro cell-based assays
- Familiarity with imaging technologies for data capture and analysis
- Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and solve technical problems
- Demonstrated capability to design, execute, and interpret experiments
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical reporting
- Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
- Excellent documentation and data recording practices
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills within matrixed teams
- Track record of scientific contributions , such as publications or conference presentations
- Experience with complex in vitro models , such as:
- Spheroids
- Organoids
- Organ-on-a-chip
- Microfluidic systems
- Experience specifically in skin disease modeling or autoimmune disorders
- Familiarity with Skin-on-a-Chip or other microphysiological platforms
- Knowledge of disease modeling using human primary cells
- Exposure to or experience in project management
- Familiarity with drug discovery workflows or biotech/pharma industry R&D
- Ability to integrate knowledge of autoimmune disease mechanisms into model development
- Experience presenting research to internal stakeholders or at external scientific forums
- Background in translational research or preclinical model development
