Job Description Cambrex Snapdragon Boston is currently seeking exceptional candidates for its Chemical Process Technician position at its Waltham, MA R&D center. A successful candidate will be joining a group of innovative and entrepreneurial engineers and scientists to enable the delivery of high quality, complex chemical matter to our clients. This is a 40 hour/5 day position with occasional evening and weekend operations. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Process Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent with one or more years of relevant experience, or a High School or GED degree with 10 years experience. The candidate should enjoy working in the field with their hands. The candidate should be well versed in handling equipment related to chemical processing, including working with glassware, compression fittings, tubing, pumps, and laboratory operations such as following chemical process recipes. From time to time, the candidate will also support general facility operations, including cleaning, waste management, and organization of various areas of the facility. Responsibilities Responsibilities Work with hazardous materials, including flammable, toxic, and corrosive chemicals, inside of laboratory environments Stage, weigh, and transfer materials, including movement of up to 200L drums Wear personal protective equipment, including respirators, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and chemical resistant lab coats Assemble and operate kilo laboratory equipment, including large glass reactors, temperature control units, and flow reactors Clean reactors and rooms, including disassembly, maintenance, and assembly of reactors Follow Good Documentation Practices in support of cGMP activities, including filling out qualification protocols, calibration protocols, equipment use and care logs Work with scientists and engineers to execute manufacturing activities according to cGMP regulations at the highest quality Execute qualification protocols, calibration protocols, and equipment maintenance Maintain batch and equipment records per Good Documentation practices Support other laboratory and facility operations as needed, including waste collection and consolidation, loading and unloading laboratory glassware dishwashers, and organization of laboratory and warehouse areas Qualifications/Skills Required Experience and Skills: Minimum of 1 year of chemical or biotech manufacturing experience, in particular under cGMP. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and chemical resistant lab coats. Lifting (up to 55lbs) occasionally. Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends, occasionally on short notice. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability and demonstrated willingness to comply with, and encourage amongst others, the ethical and cultural standards of Snapdragon Chemistry. Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Process Technology, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering with 1 year experience.
