Were seeking a Project Chemist with a broad background in environmental site characterization and remediation for federal and global private sector clients.
Based near Anchorage, Alaska, youll work with other scientists, engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers on exciting environmental remediation and monitoring projects nationwide and globally. Youll interact with Jacobs technical experts to refine field sampling and test plans, coordinate between multiple projects and laboratories to ensure analysis and testing is performed as planned and be the technical liaison between the laboratories and project teams. As data comes in, youll be the first to review, evaluate the results and see the story come together. Youll showcase this work through project updates, technical reports, and presentations, each helping the project team to gain key insights for the design of a remedial strategy and strengthening the technical foundation of the company. Youll be juggling multiple tasks, so well rely on you to prioritize effectively, keeping the big picture in mind. Safety will be your priority, as you contribute to operational excellence and maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance in everything you do. This is a hybrid position where youll be afforded the flexibility to work from an office as well as from home as best suited to meet project delivery goals while maintaining balance.

* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or closely related environmental degree.
* Strong skills in data validation, data review, field screening, data management, and sampling.
* Practiced in scientific methods for collecting and analyzing scientific data.
* Deep understanding of standard environmental test methods and procedures.
* Demonstrated extensive proficiency in technical writing.
* Fundamental understanding of the sample collection and laboratory processes.
* Knowledge of chemical materials use, storage & shipping requirements.
* 40 hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain and maintain
* Professional experience in an environmental laboratory, preferably in a role with consulting responsibilities, quality, technical management, or client interactions.
* Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision on multiple projects and in a geographically diverse team environment.
* Proficiency in software typical of discipline.
* FUDSCHem experience or the ability to receive training upon hire
* Familiarity with DoD QSM requirements
* Ability to walk through a process to identify and close gaps in written procedures for non-standard tasks to ensure all objectives will be met.
* Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with co-workers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
* Readiness and desire to mentor junior staff.
* Ability to think on multiple levels while gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing all relevant data to make sound recommendations
