Please note: This is a pipeline role and not an active opening. We are proactively identifying candidates for a fully onsite Scientist, Downstream Process Development position supporting MSAT activities for late-stage and lifecycle biologics programs. This role focuses on developing and scaling purification processes (not manufacturing) for monoclonal antibodies, bispecifics, fusion proteins, and other biologics. Key responsibilities include chromatography and filtration (TFF, UF/DF), process scale-up, tech transfer, virus clearance studies, and protocol/report writing. Experience with automated systems like GE AKTA and downstream troubleshooting is essential. Local candidates preferred; relocation considered at own expense.

responsibilities:
- Develop and scale downstream purification processes (e.g., chromatography, TFF, filtration) for biologics including monoclonal and bispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, and enzymes
- Lead and execute process characterization, DOE studies, small-scale model development, and virus clearance studies to support regulatory filings
- Author and execute protocols, analyze data, generate technical reports, and support regulatory documentation
- Manage technology transfer activities and collaborate with global cross-functional teams to ensure successful process implementation
qualifications:
Required:
- Ph.D. in Biotechnology or related field with 3-5 years, M.S. with 5-10 years, or B.S. with 10+ years of relevant downstream process development experience
- Hands-on experience with chromatography, TFF (including UF/DF), micro-/nano-filtration, and automated platforms (e.g., GE AKTA)
- Proven expertise in process scaling, technology transfer, protocol development, data interpretation, and equipment troubleshooting
- Experience with virus clearance studies, cGMP-scale downstream processing, SOP/BPR documentation, and late-phase or commercial programs
