Job Summary We are seeking an Environmental Scientist EIR Scientist 1 to join our team The Environmental Scientist I will be responsible for conducting research collecting and analyzing data and assisting in the development of environmental protection policies Minimum Requirements Must have a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Geology or EngineeringMust have 1 to 3 years experience performing field assignments including environmental sampling activitiesOther degrees are acceptable but with more years of experienceMust have a valid drivers license and a reliable vehiclePossess physical strength stamina and dexterity to perform environmental site activities including field samplingTechnical Requirements 40 hour HAZWOPERAbility to read and interpret maps and directions as well as project specifications and plansWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office programs requiredMust possess strong verbal and written communication skillsMust have the ability to work independently and with project teamsMust have some knowledge of Federal Laws and Regulations pertaining to the EnvironmentOther Miscellaneous Qualities Ability to travel periodically and perform field assignments including environmental samplingAbility to bend and stoop to be at floor levelFamiliarity with IPhone andor IPadAbility to travel in New Jersey throughout LI and the 5 Boroughs in NYCOSHA 30 hours a plusJob Responsibilities include but are not limited to Perform soilgroundwater sampling;Perform staff level air water and waste environmental compliance reporting and samplingPerform property due Diligence assessments; and support various projects in the New York and New Jersey areas
