Who You Are

The Scientist I, Analytical Development is a highly self-motivated and flexible scientist who operates well in a start-up environment. This individual will use their knowledge and experience in analytical development of complex therapeutic products to develop methods to evaluate the identity, quantity, purity, and/or potency of AAV products. They serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or more analytical technologies for AAV products.

How You Contribute

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for analytical technologies, including CE-based methods.
  • Independently design, execute, and interpret studies for development of analytical methods for AAV products.
  • Collaborate and troubleshoot with other scientists and identify areas for improvement.
  • Review and approve ELN entries for other group members.
  • Execute test methods in support of process development and vector characterization.
  • Support Quality Control with qualification of analytical test methods and identify needs for release testing.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for characterization of AAV and process intermediates and implement as needed.
  • Author documents in support of analytical development activities.
  • Collaborate with other scientists and routinely present data to internal stakeholders.

What You Bring to the Team

Education & Experience

  • BS or equivalent with 8+ years relevant experience OR
  • MS degree or equivalent with 6+ years relevant experience OR
  • PhD or equivalent with 0+ years relevant experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Competencies

  • Experience developing analytical methods to support process development and late clinical stage characterization.
  • Experience with HPLC and CE/icIEF methods deployed for complex biomolecules required.
  • Hands on experience with the Bio-Techne MauriceFlex platform preferred.
  • Experience with either ddPCR, ELISA and/or potency method development preferred.
  • Understanding of current analytical methods deployed for AAV or complex biomolecule stability and characterization required.
  • Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and flexible individual who operates well in a start-up environment.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily a laboratory setting.
  • May involve standing, sitting, and using laboratory equipment for extended periods.
  • Some lifting of equipment or materials may be required.
  • Work may involve exposure to chemicals or biological materials; proper handling and disposal procedures must be followed.
