This position is responsible for Product Development of moderately complex products, Design and experiment, and perform technical base investigation in developing products within the Performance Coatings Group- Automotive team. The individual will have opportunities to gain experience in broad Automotive coating technologies, demonstrate leadership, and create companywide impact on new product developments.

RESPONSIBILITIES Work with key stakeholders from Sourcing, Technical, Marketing and Operations to design and execute projects.
Lead projects. Collaborate within R&D team, Analytical, Application, Marketing, and Color teams.
Design and execute experiments, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
Manage the timely completion of projects.
Communicate lab results concisely via presentation, email and/or lab report.
Present project findings/conclusions to stakeholders, follow up with action items, and drive projects to the right directions.
May mentor temporary employees.
Demonstrate a personal commitment to the team by helping / assisting other employees.
Adhere to company safety standards at all times; maintain safe operating procedures through a complete understanding of safety rules and lab procedures.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Minimum 1 year of coatings chemist experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Polymers and Coatings
In depth understanding of coating formulation and how it relates to coating requirements
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
Travel Requirements: 10%

Upon completion of construction, the individual selected for this role will primarily work at the new Sherwin-Williams Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio. Construction is expected to be complete in 2025. Until then, the role will be based at Warrensville Technology Center, located at 4440 Warrensville Center Road, Warrensville Hts, OH 44128.
