Pay: $35.00 per hour
The primary purpose of this position is to support the development of new products and solve formulation/manufacturing issues with existing products. This position will include analytical testing of raw materials and products using Liquid Chromatography (LC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), Head Space Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (HS-GC/MS), Infrared Spectrometry (FT-IR) and other wet chemistry techniques (titration, solids, etc.). Provide expert evaluation and interpretation of all analytical results. Communicate findings and provide written reports for management.
The individual may be required to record data results, write reports, perform database entry, along with other laboratory functions.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provide analytical support to formulating chemists and help solve critical issues related to formula innovation and production.
Work on multiple projects of different degrees of complexity at one time.
Adhere to GMP documentation lab notebook requirements, record data results, write reports, perform database entry, along with other laboratory functions as needed.
Keeps laboratory management informed of project progress.
The candidate will be expected to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision.
Perform any in-process testing, lab maintenance, lab inventory tracking that is required and assist other groups in Special Analytical Services (SAS) as needed.
Work safely in a laboratory environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Four year (B.S. or B.A.) Chemistry, Biology or Biochemistry degree is required (Chemistry field preferred)
1-3 years of experience required
Microsoft office, SAP a plus.
Statistical analysis skills a plus
Good working knowledge of analytical techniques required.
Solid awareness and practice of safe lab procedures.
Basic knowledge of chemistry techniques (GMP) and knowledge of: Titration, Pipetting, pH, Viscosity and making volumetric solutions.
Must be able to communicate clearly both orally and in written formats.
Problem solving skills a plus.
Knowledge of cosmetic ingredients a plus.
Must be flexible to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
Knowledge of metric weights and measures including balance, pH meter, viscometer
