Job Duties:

  • The Associate NDT Lab Technician performs NDT (Nondestructive Testing) examinations and related activities such as: Radiography, Ultrasonic examinations, Visual examinations, Liquid penetrant, Magnetic particle, and Eddy current testing.

  • Projects are typically located at fossil generating plants and natural gas pipelines along with other natural gas and electric generation facilities.

  • Technicians are required to evaluate test results in accordance with nationally accepted codes and specifications.

  • The individual will be required to work on extended out of town assignments within the state of Michigan and be willing to work significant overtime as necessary to meet job commitments.

  • The position will require the individual to certify as an industrial radiographer and several other NDT test methods upon completion of training.

  • This position involves work with high energy radioactive isotopes.

  • Agility/ flexibility dependent upon varying department needs

  • Ability to maintain performance and composure during audits and technical certification testing

  • Problem solving around processes, equipment, and specific technical methods

  • Education: Bachelor' Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry OR HSD/GED

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
