Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Lab Technician to join our dynamic team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is essential to supporting research and product development efforts through precise laboratory testing and characterization of adsorbent materials.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard laboratory characterization of adsorbent materials using both physical and chemical techniques in accordance with ASTM procedures.
  • Conduct specialized analytical testing to evaluate adsorbent performance, including ICP/MS, GC/MS, UV/VIS, and ISE analysis.
  • Execute laboratory tests such as pH measurement, pipetting, titrations, density, viscosity, moisture content, salt concentration, and analysis of dissolved solids.
  • Document all results accurately and maintain laboratory records in compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
Essential Skills
  • Knowledge of lab procedures and chemistry.
  • Experience in quality control and scientific research.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or the person in science, with a focus on chemistry.
  • Non-degreed candidates with one year of wet chemistry lab experience are considered.
  • Laid-back demeanor and easy-going personality.
  • Ability to work well with others in a small team.
Work Environment

Join a very small company with only a few people in the lab. The team enjoys a laid-back and fun atmosphere but is committed to getting the work done. The environment is casual, with exposure to chemicals such as mercury, arsenic, and sulfur. Be prepared for strong smells in a light industrial setting. You will primarily work in the lab alongside team members. The role allows for growth through Lab Tech Levels 1 to 4, with potential pay increases at the end of each year depending on business performance. The work involves a diverse range of interesting projects, providing a low-stress environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
