Predicine is a global molecular insights company focused on advancing precision medicine in oncology.

Our CLIA/CAP-certified liquid biopsy NGS laboratory plays a key role in driving innovation in this space. We are currently looking for motivated individuals to join our wet lab team and contribute to critical projects, including Companion Diagnostics (CDx) development, commercial studies, and internal assay validations.

We are currently hiring for two roles within our NGS team:

  • NGS Lab Associate : Entry-level/early career
  • NGS Scientist : Mid-to senior-level (experienced professionals)

Key Responsibilities (Both Levels):

  • Sample Handling and Processing: Manage and process samples, including nucleic acid extraction from various specimen types (e.g., plasma, cell lines, blood, CSF, FFPE, fresh tissue, urine), both manually and using automated systems, following established protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • NGS Assay Execution: Perform NGS assays, including library preparation, sequencing, and basic data analysis to support genetic testing.
  • NGS Instrument Operation: Operate and maintain Illumina NGS platforms (e.g., MiSeq, NextSeq, NovaSeq) to ensure high-quality and reliable results.
  • Quality Control: Perform and adhere to laboratory quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and validity of test results.
  • Documentation: Maintain complete, accurate records of laboratory activities, protocols, QC data, and any corrective actions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow clinical laboratory regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including those related to CLIA, CAP, and CDx submissions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with scientists, project managers, and regulatory teams to support lab operations and project milestones.

Position-Specific Expectations:

NGS Lab Associate (Entry/Junior Level)

  • Perform laboratory tasks under close supervision.
  • Focus on sample preparation, basic NGS workflows, and routine instrument operation.
  • Escalate troubleshooting needs to senior staff.
  • Limited exposure to regulatory processes and CDx-specific tasks.

NGS Scientist (Experienced Level)

  • Independently perform complex NGS workflows, including troubleshooting and assay optimization.
  • Lead troubleshooting and proactively resolve technical issues.
  • Contribute to assay validation, process improvements, and CDx submissions.
  • Ensure regulatory readiness and lab audit preparedness in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Mentor and train junior staff as needed.

Qualifications Required:

NGS Lab Associate:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0–2 years of hands-on NGS or molecular biology lab experience (including internships).
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with molecular biology techniques, including PCR and basic NGS workflows.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and good communication skills.

NGS Scientist:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (required) or Master’s degree (preferred) in a relevant scientific field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on NGS lab experience, including library preparation, quality control, and instrument troubleshooting.
  • CDx Experience: Prior experience supporting Companion Diagnostics (CDx) projects and regulatory submissions is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting ability and proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR and sequencing.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with CLIA and CAP laboratory regulations is essential.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regulated lab environment.
