Your role As a Research Associate, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the programmes research and standardisation goals. You will join a collaborative environment with three PhD candidates working on interconnected projects in Quantum Optimisation, People-Centred Design for Sustainable Construction, and Sustainable Space.We are seeking an outstanding Research Associate to strengthen the research team in the area of Search, Optimization, and Machine Learning Techniques. As a Research Associate, you will:Conduct state-of-the-art research in search, optimization, and machine learning, focusing on addressing sustainability challenges in ICT, Construction, and AerospaceOversee and mentor PhD students, ensuring alignment of their work with the programme goalsManage research and standardisation activities, including organizing workshops, reporting, and disseminating results through publications and conferencesContribute to technical standardisation efforts by participating in relevant committees to the research programmeWrite research proposals and support the groups efforts in acquiring fundingRepresent the University of Luxembourg in international research forums, fostering collaboration and visibilityParticipate in teaching activitiesThe research activities will be hosted by the Parallel Computing and Optimisation Group (PCOG) at SnT, headed by Dr. Gregoire Danoy. PCOG specializes in optimization techniques, with a focus on distributed computing and AI-driven solutions PCOG conducts research in parallel computing, search and optimisation techniques, to provide efficient, scalable and robust solutions to state-of-the-art, large-scale discrete/combinatorial problems.
