Avantor is looking for a dedicated and high energy Analytical Chemistry Specialist, responsible for the daily promotion of suppliers and products within the VWR Chemicals and Chromatography portfolio and workflows. This role will be a full-time position based in the province of British Columbia. What were looking for:
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent work experience required. Masters or PhD degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of industry/chromatography lab experience required.
- Experience working in an analytical lab, performing duties such as sample prep, running, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instruments, and data analysis preferred.
- Experience with and a firm understanding of the analytical chemistry marketplace (HPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC/MS, FPLC, flash, purification, spectroscopy, ICP, wet chemistry, etc.) required.
- Proactive and results oriented individual with solid communication, organizational, and time-management skills required.
- A self-starter that takes initiative, effectively implements programs, recognizes opportunities, communicates ideas, and works comfortably in a constantly evolving environment.
- Experience with MS Office Suite. CRM experience is an asset.
- Ability to understand individual customer operations.
- Holder of a valid Driver's License in good standing.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations minimum 3 days a week.
- Canadian Sales associates are required to travel to the United States for annual sales conferences and occasional training sessions.
How you will thrive and create an impact:
- Sell entire VWR Chemical and Chromatography workflow and product portfolio.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales quota for products used within analytical chemistry workflows, working in conjunction with the general sales teams.
- Fully utilize CRM tools and applications to manage pipeline and sales forecast.
- Close sales on more technical products, working in conjunction with generalist sales reps.
- Identify and assist in the process of converting competitive products to items available from VWR.
- Help manage the Chemical and Chromatography portfolio in the territory, and ensure effective communication to sales reps, sales managers, and area vice presidents of sales goals, trends, and performance, in support of local sales growth plans.
- Communicate VWR program strength to general sales reps, customers, and potential suppliers.
- Train and motivate the general sales reps to sell target product areas.
- Assume overall territory ownership, along with general sales reps and management team by attending regional meetings, strategy sessions, key account blitzes and on-site technical seminars.
- Maintain current knowledge on vertical markets dynamics, application trends, and other critical business information
- Demonstrate Avantors mission and uphold the Avantor Code of Conduct.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations minimum 3 days a week.
