This is a 12 month contract that is hybrid in Redmond, WA. The expectation is that this person will be onsite 3-4 days a week.

Your expertise in C++ and Unreal Engine will directly impact the quality and efficiency of game development workflows. Be a driving force in evolving and maintaining data validation systems, ensuring a stable and efficient engine for game development. Collaborate with artists and content creators to streamline workflows, enhance data validation processes, and improve overall game stability. What Youll Do:

  • Expand and maintain data validation systems
  • Implement data validation telemetry
  • Improve validation performance
  • Add new validators and improve content creator workflows
  • Integrate Unreal Engine service releases and assist with major upgrades
  • Investigate and fix issues arising from Unreal upgrade integrations
  • Monitor daily test automation results and investigate failures
  • Assess ownership of test failures and fix or hand off where appropriate
  • Improve and expand engine test coverage
  • Implement Unreal editor and automation telemetry

Must-Haves:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in C++
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Unreal Engine development
  • Experience writing efficient and effective unit tests
  • Experience using data and observability solutions to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for automation and build health
  • Experience with Perforce source control system
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, ADO)
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including agile methodologies and continuous integration and deployment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis of critical problems
  • Outstanding communication and writing skills

Nice-to-Haves:

  • C# proficiency
  • Experience with profiling tools (e.g., PIX, Unreal profiler)
  • Experience with data validation and Gauntlet automation

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $55 to $62 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
