As a Quality Control Technician 2 , youll play a key role in ensuring components meet rigorous standards that support safe and effective patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work in a regulated environment to support the overall quality and safety of Smith + Nephew medical devices.

2nd shift support preferred, 3pm-11pm Monday- Friday flexibility as needed

What will you be doing?

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, inspection procedures, and technical specifications.

  • Use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.) to verify dimensional conformance.

  • Document inspection results and test data accurately and promptly in inspection records and digital applications.

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to address quality issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain inspection records and ensure proper documentation in compliance with FDA regulations and ISO 13485 standards.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous quality.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education:

    • High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree or technical certification preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 2-4 years of experience in a quality inspection in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device

  • Basic understanding of inspection and calibration principles and familiarity with precision measuring instruments.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and calibration standards.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during inspection and calibration activities.
