Discover more about our culture and approach here: Job Description Summary: We are currently seeking Project Development Engineer to overseee the engineering and technical aspects of utility-scale solar, energy storage, and (wind) projects during the development phase. This role is responsible for conducting engineering due diligence, supporting preliminary design efforts, and ensuring thorough project evaluation. By optimizing projects for marketability and execution readiness, the engineer helps maintain high-quality standards aligned with Nadara's long-term ownership objectives. Emphasizing collaboration and proactive risk management, this position plays a crucial role in shaping the Nadara pipeline and setting projects up for future success. Job Description: Key Responsibilities: Conduct site assessments, develop preliminary layouts, and provide energy prediction estimates in collaboration with the development team. Work with internal teams to identify engineering deliverable needs (e.g., site surveys, geotechnical reports, hydrology studies, and conceptual designs). Provide engineering input for permitting, power purchase agreements, interconnect agreements, financial modeling, and overall project development. Prepare engineering quantities and information to support project budgets and timelines. Represent Nadara in development, permitting, and regulatory meetings, as well as discussions with consultants, contractors, and suppliers. Oversee multiple projects, manage competing priorities, and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Review designs, calculations, and procurement strategies to optimize performance, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards. Stay updated on solar, energy storage, and (wind) technologies, roadmaps, and pricing; interact with major equipment suppliers (e.g., modules, inverters, batteries, transformers. etc.) and service providers (e.g., EPC, O&M, etc.). Maintain accurate project records and facilitate engineering knowledge transfer to execution teams in the pre-construction phase. The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3-6 years of relevant technical experience, preferably in renewable energy. Understanding of project development, permitting, commercial issues, financial analysis, and engineering economics, and the ability to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects, manage priorities, and work in a dynamic environment. Excellent verbal and written communication, professional interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate across teams. Ability to lead projects with minimal supervision and knows when to escalate issues. Aptitude to learn quickly with a proactive approach to risk management and optimization. Preferred Knowledge: Deep technical knowledge of PV, energy storage and (wind) power plant systems and equipment. Strong knowledge of power project engineering, procurement, and construction processes. Familiarity with building codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, and NEC.
