We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist as a postdoctoral researcher to join our Indianapolis Diabetes, Obesity and Complications research team. This position will be focused on developing and implementing novel cellular models and renal organoid systems for the purpose of advancing our understanding of renal biology and to enable interrogation of novel disease pathways and therapeutic targets. The successful candidate will have a strong background in in vitro pharmacology, stem cell biology, tissue engineering, and organoid technology. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative research aimed at understanding kidney development and disease. The ideal candidate is an innovative, independent, and dynamic lab-based research scientist preferably with expertise in preclinical cardiorenal in vitro model development and characterization.

  • Develop and test protocols for organoid culture, differentiation, and functional assays to understand renal biology and investigate pathways of interest.
  • Develop and characterize novel, complex cellular in vitro disease models to interrogate disease biology and assess therapeutics of novel drug targets.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate organoid models with other renal experimental systems.
  • Analyze and interpret data, prepare manuscripts for publication, and present findings at scientific conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field such as stem cell biology, developmental biology, or tissue engineering
