We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate with a strong background in bioinformatics and computational biology to join Dr. Yu Mas laboratory in the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science at The Ohio State University. The successful candidate will contribute to genomics and breeding research in ornamental crops. Key responsibilities include analyzing whole-genome sequencing data, conducting genome assembly and gene annotation, performing variant calling and population genetic analyses, presenting research findings at national and international conferences, publishing results in peer-reviewed journals, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, and contributing to collaborative, team-based research.
Required Education
Ph.D. in plant breeding, bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics, molecular biology or related field
Required Experience
Experience with high-performance computing and analysis of next-generation sequencing data
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication skills; team-orientated with focus on achieving team goals
High level of motivation and independence in pursuing research objectives
Desired Experience/Qualifications
Demonstrated experience and skills in molecular biology or molecular genetics research
Strong record of publications
