Position Summary CFR's David Rockefeller Studies Program is one of the country's largest foreign policy think tanks with a widely respected and influential research staff. The Studies Program's aim is to advance the discussion of American foreign policy and international affairs through its writing, publications, public outreach, and discussions. The research associate will support the work of the senior fellow for China studies in the areas of finance, international economics, international political economy, and foreign policy. The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to): Research specific areas as requested by the fellow for articles, book chapters, and other publications Coordinate events, including preparing invitations, travel arrangements, corresponding with speakers and presiders, helping to prepare background papers and materials for distribution, and providing other logistical support Provide administrative support to the fellow, including handling correspondence and responding to media requests. Assist in managing program finances, including preparing budgets and tracking monthly statements, monitoring grant information and writing reports and requests, creating and updating Excel spreadsheets, and preparing vouchers for reimbursement. Assist fellow with social media outreach, including publishing a blog, website, video, and/or using social media applications such as X, Facebook, etc., as needed Provide support across departmental lines and for other fellows, upon request. Qualifications Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in economics or related field with strong academic credentials. Master's degree preferred. One or more year(s) related administrative and/or internship experience preferred. Related Skills & Other Requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven interest in global financial markets, the digital economy, natural resource and climate security, and/or economic policy required Strong research, proofreading, and editing skills Strong organizational and multitasking skills Knowledge of MS Word and Excel Working proficiency with one or more East Asian languages is highly desired. Compensation and Benefits The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $55,000-$58,000, depending on experience.
