Role Overview The Principal Scientist will join the Translational Safety and Bioanalytical Sciences (TS&BA) team in Thousand Oaks, CA, supporting drug development from target identification through clinical phases. This role involves designing and executing in vitro assays, collaborating across teams, and innovating in safety strategies, especially related to ion channel and cardiac function. Responsibilities Serve as an electrophysiologist supporting investigative activities using electrophysiology techniques. Develop translational safety strategies addressing challenges in the drug pipeline. Apply expertise in ion channel biophysics and pharmacology, particularly cardiac-related, to assay development and validation. Utilize techniques such as patch clamp, MEA, or calcium imaging, and possibly incorporate AI or machine learning. Communicate findings effectively and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. Qualifications Basic: PhD, PharmD, or MD in a relevant field with 2+ years electrophysiology experience; or Masters with 5+ years; or Bachelors with 7+ years. Preferred: Industry experience in electrophysiology.
