EMSL is seeking a part time Laboratory Technician in Plymouth Meeting, PA. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis Air Asbestos Sample Prep, Asbestos NOB Sample Prep, and Mold
Utilization of balances, HEPA filtered fume hoods, filtration systems and muffle furnaces to prep samples
Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal
Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus
Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25lbs and standing for various lengths of time
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude
Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance
Available Shift:
Position is part-time Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. OR 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Plymouth Meeting, PA are encouraged to apply
