Are you passionate about driving innovation in product performance and manufacturing efficiency? We’re looking for a Product & Process Development Engineer to identify opportunities for improvement, lead mill trials, and collaborate across departments to enhance paper quality and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Analyze opportunities to improve chemical usage , product performance , and manufacturing processes .

  • Plan and execute mill trials to support new product development and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with Mill Superintendents, Sales, Quality, and Technical teams to solve customer concerns and optimize product outcomes.

  • Apply your understanding of paper properties , fiber types , chemical interactions , and machine variables to drive performance.

  • Engage with vendors and suppliers to evaluate new technologies that benefit operations.

  • Conduct lab work including handsheet studies , coating drawdowns , and various paper testing methods.

  • Provide technical or process support to Engineering as needed.

  • Prioritize and follow all plant safety protocols and GMP standards .

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree required – Paper Science & Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred.

  • Minimum 1+ year of experience in a paper mill or paper manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of paper process chemistry ; familiarity with dyes, pigments, or coatings is a plus.

  • Strong data analysis , problem-solving , and communication skills .

  • Proactive mindset – eager to learn, innovate, and experiment.

  • Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment .

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Willingness to travel to support trials, vendors, or technology scouting.
