Scientist BioDesign Protein Biochemistry
The BioDesign Protein & Cell Engineering group at *** is seeking a creative and self-motivated scientist to contribute to our mission to design and develop medicines to transform patients' lives. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling the generation of antibodies and antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates intended to improve the delivery of therapeutic oligonucleotides to target tissues. Primary responsibilities will include antibody expression, cell line generation, target binding and assessment of gene knockdown.
What You'll Do
Primary responsibilities will include:
Stable cell line generation
Antibody expression in mammalian cells in shake flask cultures up to 3 liter
Plasmid production
qPCR to assess target knockdown in cell lines and tissue lysates
Assessment of antibody binding to target by flow cytometry
Required Skills
Mammalian tissue culture experience
Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation and record-keeping skills
MS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 3 or more years of experience (Candidates with more or less experience will be considered and are encouraged to apply)
Preferred Skills
Experience with protein or antibody expression in CHO cells by transient transfection
Experience with generating stable CHO cell pools secreting recombinant proteins or antibodies
Experience with large scale expression or bioreactor handling
Experience with cell engineering, stable cell line generation
Nucleic acid quantitation by qPCR or ddPCR
Flow cytometry sample preparation and data analysis
Immunoassay techniques Eg. MSD, Elisa
