Position: Associate Bioanalytical Scientist LC-MS/MS - Level I
Location: Germantown - Onsite
Salary: The expected salary range is $55,000-$65,000 per year
We are looking for an Associate Bioanalytical Scientist to support our LC-MS/MS Bioanalysis Laboratory on a full-time basis in our Germantown, MD facility.
This is an onsite role, with limitless potential for growth. An individual will be successful in this role by carrying out laboratory-based tasks including data processing and review within stated timeframes and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company Policies. Contributes to the laboratory and equipment maintenance to ensure efficient operations. Maintains positive and professional working relationships with coworkers of all levels.
Essential Functions
- Participate in day-to-day operation of the Laboratory, the analysis of samples and associated duties.
- Responsible for handling and processing biological samples including competent handling and pipetting technique.
- Ensure adequate levels of reference materials, control matrix, and project-specific consumables are available to meet the objectives of the study.
- Prepare/review forms and SOPs.
- Responsible for general solution preparation.
- Compliance with the Laboratory Safety Policy.
- Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures unless specifically varied in the validation or sample analysis plan
In addition to performing the above functions independently, the Scientist will be responsible for the following;
- Sample preparation procedures using extraction techniques including but not limited to protein precipitation, solid phase extraction, and liquid-liquid extraction.
- Basic operation and routine maintenance of LC-MS/MS instruments and other general laboratory equipment.
- Review analytical run paperwork for completeness and address applicable QC review findings in timely manner.
- Responsible for performing various monthly maintenance tasks for basic laboratory equipment.
- Assist with laboratory cleaning, inventory of laboratory consumables and ordering activities.
- Support experimental troubleshooting, method development, and validation experiments under close supervision.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in relevant field, OR Bachelor of Science in relevant field with at least 1-2 years relevant experience.
- Hands on experience working with Sciex LC-MS/MS would be a distinct advantage
- Working knowledge of basic functions of Watson LIMS - would be helpful
- Working knowledge of FDA and ICH bioanalytical method validation guideline - would be helpful
