Research Associate

Lead research in the development of cyberinfrastructure with a focus on community impact, e.g., increase connectedness of older adults or water sustainability. Will work closely with an interdisciplinary research team comprised of experts from different disciplines including, e.g., computer science, civil engineering, anthropology, and psychology. Primary duties will include: 1) conduct, monitor and analyze research projects and data; 2) prepare reports of research findings; 3) conduct data-gathering interviews and tests; 4) author technical reports and summaries of findings; 5) lead the development of cyberinfrastructure; and 6) assist with formulating research objectives, programs, and priorities.

Minimum Education: Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

Minimum Experience:Two (2) years of experience as a Research Associate, Software Engineer, or similar role in conducting collaborative research projects across disciplines.

Special Requirements:The two (2) years or twenty-four (24) months of experience should include experience conducting collaborative research projects and conceptualizing, designing, developing, and deploying comprehensive cyberinfrastructure solutions, as well as experience in the following applications: Software programming languages (e.g. php, java, C#), Database Management Systems (e.g. MySQL, MS SQL), Linux and Windows Servers, Semantic Web Technologies (e.g., RDF, OWL, Triple Stores) and Web Technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
