Position Summary
Researches and leads process development efforts to support existing and new processing technologies from feasibility through production scale-up and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Develops detailed process documentation in collaboration with R&D, Process Engineering, and Automation Engineering to scale-up and launch new products.
- Technical resource for troubleshooting existing manufacturing processes, including mixing, milling, extrusion, etc.
- Technical lead for scoping and evaluating new and emerging processing technologies that are relevant to the short-term and long-term growth strategy of Parker Chomerics.
- Interprets and validates test results for accuracy and precision. Ensures conformance to product qualification procedures and parameters to achieve customer and product reliability and safety standards.
- Provides technical information for review with product and process engineering teams using established engineering practices, standards, and documentation methods (e.g. structured design process; customer design reviews). Writes supporting documentation for procedures and technical reports; may assist in writing technical proposals for customers.
- Contributes to the completion milestones associated with specific projects (e.g. create functional diagrams and system layouts; review detailed drawings and schematics; define data structure, interfaces and programming logic; analyze material requirements; research customer data item requirements).
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science/ Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Required: 2+ years of experience in Process Engineering or new product development and scale-up.
- Preferred: Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science/ Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related field with 2 years of experience in Process Engineering or new product development and scale-up.
- Has working knowledge of scientific domain principles and techniques, product functionality, industry practices, regulations, and policies.
- Experience working in a cross-functional functional team on face paced product development.
- Must Demonstrate effective organizational and verbal/written English communication skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or have U.S. Permanent Resident Status
