The University of Georgia, College of Engineering, School of Chemical, Materials, and biomedical Engineering, NeuraConnect Lab is seeking a highly motivated computation postdoctoral scholar in the field of brain mechanics to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will have an active role in developing and simulating advanced finite element (FE) models of the brain for traumatic injury and disease prognosis. The candidate will be involved in a number of different projects that generally focus on developing digital brain twins. Responsibilities will include simulating various mechanical and pathological brain conditions, the analysis of neuroimaging, and applying AI and statistical analysis techniques to extract insights from large-scale datasets. Duties will include academic publishing in peer-reviewed conferences and journals, in collaboration with academic research partners.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position
- Excellent communication skills and a strong publication record are preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, computational neuroscience, or a related field
- Strong background in finite element modeling (preferably LS-DYNA, Abaqus, or similar)
- Experience with neuroimaging data analysis is desirable
- Proficiency in scientific programming (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or C++)
