Scientist - Protein Biochemistry | 12-Month Contract

We're hiring on behalf of a leading biotech company focused on the design and development of transformative medicines. Their BioDesign Protein & Cell Engineering group is seeking a creative and self-motivated Scientist to support the development of antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates aimed at enhancing therapeutic oligonucleotide delivery. As a w2 contract worker you are eligible to a benefits package including health/dental/vision/life insurance, a 401k vehicle and more.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment at the interface of protein biochemistry and cellular engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Express antibodies in mammalian cells (shake flask cultures up to 3L)
Generate stable cell lines and produce plasmids
Use qPCR to assess gene knockdown in engineered cell lines and tissue lysates
Evaluate antibody binding to targets using flow cytometry
Required Qualifications:
Mammalian tissue culture experience
Strong documentation and communication skills
MS in Biology, Molecular/Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 3+ years of hands-on laboratory experience (a range of experience levels will be considered)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CHO cell transient transfection and stable pool generation
Large-scale expression or bioreactor handling
Experience with qPCR or ddPCR
Familiarity with immunoassays (MSD, ELISA), flow cytometry, and antibody purification
Background in cell engineering or stable cell line development
