Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Process Chemist to support the production of high-quality veterinary products on a multi-kilogram scale. This role involves chemical synthesis, purification, and characterization of both intermediate and final products under Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate has experience with air-sensitive chemistry and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical synthesis on a multi-kilogram scale according to SOPs
  • Produce and purify starting materials, intermediates, and final products
  • Operate and maintain inert atmosphere gloveboxes and Schlenk lines
  • Maintain detailed and accurate batch records and production documentation
  • Manage production timelines, materials, and equipment availability
  • Clean and maintain glassware, equipment, and production workspaces
  • Prepare production areas for project initiation or changeovers
  • Adhere to industrial safety and quality control guidelines
  • Lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
Requirements

Candidate Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Organic Chemistry or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial production experience in multi-step chemical synthesis
  • Proficient in air-free techniques (Schlenk line, glovebox) and equipment setup
  • Familiarity with SOPs, batch records, and quality control protocols
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and purification techniques
  • Skilled in handling air-sensitive materials under inert conditions
  • Ability to follow and interpret technical protocols and SOPs
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a production setting
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
