Beer Quality Control Specialist

Location: Savannah, GA
Pay: $17 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, starting at 4:30 PM, for 8-10 hour shifts

Job Summary:
The Beer Quality Control Specialist is tasked with inspecting beer pallets for inaccuracies, implementing corrections, recording errors, and reporting to the Area Manager for accountability. This role demands assertiveness in identifying and resolving issues. The specialist adheres to company policies for material handling and is adaptable to perform additional duties such as inventory control, sales pickup, shipping & receiving, and returns. Ensuring safety, sanitation, and security within the logistics environment is vital.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect beer pallets for inaccuracies and execute necessary corrections.
  • Ensure loads are properly stacked, secured, and stable.
  • Maintain detailed records to trace in-house errors and monitor picker accuracy.
  • Submit daily power equipment checklists to the appropriate manager.
  • Report any safety or mechanical issues with power equipment in writing.
  • Safely and efficiently operate all equipment.
  • Keep the facility neat, orderly, and safe.
  • Assist in maintaining security within the logistics environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Six months of experience in a similar position preferred.
  • Experience in operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and other power equipment preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math computations.
  • Competence in using company technology and maintaining product knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of computerized handheld devices.
  • Skills in inventory and quality control.

Working Conditions:

  • Maintain proficiency and high job standards in a non-temperature-controlled environment, with exposure to heat, humidity, and inclement weather.
  • Occasional work in refrigerated areas.
  • Environment includes moderate noise levels and some dust and fumes from power equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular, reliable attendance required.
  • Frequent operation of pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, lift, and carry, using hands and fingers.
  • Stack, unstack, and relocate large quantities of product throughout the day.
  • Perform heavy lifting (50-65 lbs), including some overhead lifting.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and the ability to judge distance.
