RWE Clean Energy is seeking a **Chief Development Engineer** reporting to SVP of Engineering to provide deep technical expertise, guidance and mentorship across our renewable energy portfolio. This senior-level role will support the engineering needs of development and execution teams, with an initial focus on solar PV and onshore wind projects in execution.

While this position holds no direct reports, it plays a critical leadership role by offering cross-functional technical oversight, focusing on high-value projects, and mentoring early-career engineers and technical leads. The successful candidate will act as a trusted resource for project teams and senior leaders alike, helping ensure engineering excellence across the project lifecycle.

**Role Responsibilities:**

+ Provide hands-on engineering guidance for utility-scale solar PV and onshore wind projects, with an initial focus on those currently under execution.

+ Troubleshoot and help resolve engineering issues arising during project execution, ensuring alignment with design specifications and technical standards.

+ Partner with SVPs, VPs, and functional leads to help define and shape the Chief Engineer function as an integral part of RWECE Engineerings long-term organizational structure.

+ Serve as a mentor and technical resource for development engineers, junior technical staff, and new engineering leaders.

+ Be assigned to high-value, strategically important projects where experienced technical insight is most needed.

+ Support internal alignment on engineering strategy and help embed a culture of continuous improvement.

**Job Requirements and Expereinces:**

+ A minimum of 15 years of cross-functional experience in energy technologies, with significant depth in utility-scale solar PV and onshore wind project development and execution.

+ Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field); advanced degree preferred.

+ Extensive experience supporting utility-scale projects from early-stage development through construction.

+ Proven ability to collaborate across functions and levels, offering technical leadership and mentorship without formal management responsibility.

+ Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed organization with a strong team orientation.

+ Exceptional problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-driven mindset.
