- Perform pre-analytic specimen processing.
- Operate laboratory and office equipment.
- Enter information and test orders into the laboratory computer system.
- Handle a high volume of phone calls related to laboratory testing.
- Ensure correct patient identification on specimens and documentation.
- Resolve pre-analytic specimen-related issues.
- Support patient testing in the laboratory.
- Prepare complex reagents.
- Manage work unit supply inventory.
- Operate automated systems.
- Provide training to other team members.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science such as Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, or Neuroscience.
- Experience in laboratory and medical laboratory testing.
- Proficiency in instrumentation experience and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience in chemistry and biology.
- Healthcare experience is beneficial.
- Master's degree accepted; however, PhD or engineering degrees are not.
