Position Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Project Management and Facilities, the Projects and Construction Manager is someone who manages day-to-day operations of facilities development projects and Continuous Improvement initiatives through all phases within JHTNA. This role will ensure all project requirements are met, aligned, executed, and maintained. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between various workstream groups to drive project success and support other projects as needed. It is anticipated that the Project Manager will work closely with external vendors in multiple functional areas, from services through architects, designers, and construction firms as well as internal customers.

Responsibilities

Serve as a point of contact for JHTNAs facilities projects and Continuous Improvement projects as assigned, including all aspects of program management. Collaborate with internal and external customers and PMO Director. Facilitate communication and coordination among different workstreams, including CI Teams, design, construction, finance, and legal.

Lead or participate in Continuous Improvement projects as assigned.

Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to keep the project on track. Lead regular project meetings and provide updates to the PMO team, ensuring that all parties are informed of project status and changes to ensure project goals, timelines, and deliverables are clearly defined and met.

Participate in developing project business cases, strategies, decisions, issues, and communication both within and outside of JHTNA. Provide strategic guidance on all program matters to third-party partners and internal team members throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage project budgets. Drive continuous improvement within the PMO and project processes by implementing best practices and innovative solutions. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.

Management:

Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling.

Lead and manage construction teams, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors

Schedule and assign tasks to ensure efficient use of resources and workforce

Ensure all construction activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards

Monitor work to ensure quality standards are met

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a relevant field

Industry-related designations/certifications preferred (PMP, Six Sigma)

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management or related roles

Program/project management, civil or structural engineering, or related discipline

Other Requirements:

Must possess a valid US driver's license

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time required

Skills

Coordinate project management activities with other functions as necessary, including internal and external entities

Manage the project budget and schedule, providing regular reports and briefings

Strong negotiation and contract management skills, including those specific to engineering and construction

Experience working with continuous improvement methodologies and tools, engineering blueprints, process specifications, and building layouts

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Strong background with current technologies including SAP

Conflict resolution skills

Collaborative business partner, engaging with diverse teams across all levels of the organization

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, analytical and written communication skills.

Strong sense of initiative and a sense of urgency, demonstrated by accomplishing tasks, improving current work processes, and assisting others when necessary.
