SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Research Scientist is to apply technical expertise and experience to plan, coordinate, design, supervise, and carry out research projects. Prior experience in molecular imaging, molecular biology, cell signaling, functional genomics and working with model systems including 2D-cultures, 3D-cultures, multi-cell type systems and in vivo murine models is preferred

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Data Acquisition Responsible for performing experiments, including working with in vivo models. Collect and manage data from experiments and studies, ensuring accuracy and reliability

Data Analysis Analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical and computational methods to derive meaningful conclusions. Experience using image analysis software or performing analysis of multidimensional datasets would be preferred.

Present Research Findings Effectively communicate research findings across various modalities including written reports, presentations, and publications.

Mentorship : Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to laboratory personnel, fostering their professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.

Collaborate Across Multidisciplinary Teams : Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to integrate research findings into clinical and business strategies, fostering a cohesive and productive work environment.

REQUIREMENTS

Education Required: Masters degree in one of the natural sciences or related field
Preferred Education: Doctorate (Academic)

Certification Required: None
Preferred Certification: None

Experience Required: Four years of experience in experimental or scientific work. With PhD, no experience required. With Medical degree, two years of experience in experimental or scientific work.
Preferred Experience: Five years of related experience to include research work at MDACC
