Postdoctoral Research Associate - Computational Biology

Join the ProteinPaint Team, led by Dr. Xin Zhou, to develop a cutting-edge software platform for biomedical data sharing and exploration. ProteinPaint ( began as a cancer mutation visualization tool, and is now an umbrella platform behind published data portals including GenomePaint, Neuro-Oncology portal, and Survivorship Portal. Other high-profile initiatives include NCI Genomic Data Commons, American Society for Hematology Genomic Platform, and St. Jude Global Pediatric Medicine data dashboards. Were expanding to single cell omics, metabolomics, imaging and radiology, and population science, by offering highly interoperable tools to support multi-modal data integration at unprecedented scale.

The applicant should be driven by a strong interest in a career of data-sharing platform development for biomedical research. Prior experience in JavaScript, Node.js, R, Rust, python, SQL, Linux, Github, DevOps and cloud computing is highly preferred. While on the team, the trainee will be exposed to the many ongoing projects and participate in discussions with internal and external collaborators. After gaining efficiency, the new hire can lead high profile projects and author manuscripts.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

• A doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant field.

Special Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Required:

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in cancer biology or related fields.

Preferred:

Scientific background in cancer genomics, immunology, genetics or related fields.

Coding experiences in JavaScript, Node.js, R, Rust, python, SQL, Linux, Github, DevOps and cloud computing.

The Zhou lab:

The initial appointment will be for 1-2 years and can be renewed for up to a total of 5 years, depending on the candidates goals and qualifications.
