Make It With Pride.As a member of a cross functional team, you lead R&D activities required to complete process design and process deployment for innovation, growth, and cost optimization projects across multiple geographies with an emphasis on delivering the desired consumer experience.How you will contribute:You will be part of our R&D Engineering Pilot Plant team supporting innovation trials come to life! Our team works with globally recognize food and snack brands!In this role you will be working independently, lead technical work across multiple projects aligned with R&D, effectively communicating status and risks. You will also lead activities designed to generate appropriate process information for pilot plant scale up and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. You will be involved with/lead process design and specifications, process scale-up and commissioning and will ensure the effective use of resources, including the use of external agencies. This position requires you to manage stakeholders and to influence decisions based on data analysis and interpretation of results; create and maintain accurate consumer centric process specifications; leverage connections to internal and external technical communities, and; create intellectual property that gives the company a competitive advantage.What you will bring - A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:Deploy mechanical and infrastructure capital projectsLeading project teams and influencing cross-functional teamsSupport operations to ensure successful R&D trialsPlanning and delivering on multiple prioritiesIdentifying complex technical or business problems and creating and implementing solutionsUnderstanding equipment design to support manufacturing processesUsing technical data to influence stakeholdersCoaching and mentoring others in a process communityBeing a constant champion for the consumerWhat you need to know about this position:We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sr Engineer 2 to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Global Biscuit and Baked Snacks Pilot Plant. This includes leading infrastructure/mechanical/commissioning projects, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and troubleshooting equipment issues. You will be working with technologies such as: Mixers, Industrial Linear Ovens, Rotary Sandwiching Machines, Cooling Tunnels, Pressure Cookers, Crme Kitchens, etc.OperationsLead Preventive Maintenance program, scheduling, and planning. Identify and manage inventory of spare parts to unforeseen breakdowns.Train team on capabilities of how to operate equipment implemented.Lead commissioning and management of change (MOC) for equipment ensuring equipment follows all Safety, Sanitation, Electrical and Operation requirements stated in the MOC form.Support R&D trials troubleshooting to help achieve our team's achieve product specs, and project goals.Capital ProjectsFollow all Innovation Initiative Management principles (internal company PM methodology)Infrastructure Capital projectsLead project management of activities coordinating contractors and local teams to achieve tasks and milestones through weekly and daily (DMS) meetings.Develop/manage timelines (e.g., Microsoft Project) and use risk assessment tools (TRL, FMEA) to share with leadership and project team progress, gaps, and next steps through comprehensive one pagers.Process Equipment Capital projectsLead and support FAT and SAT checklists to ensure evidence for equipment warranty and own equipment supplier relation to ensure company's goals are achieved within budget, scope and time.Technical leadProvide technical support to maintenance team leading troubleshootingSupport root cause analysis with process dataSupervise mechanical and electrical work performed by contractors and electriciansCoordinate with other departments to resolve equipment and infrastructure issuesMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, generate equipment performance reports, and provide insights for improvement

ShiftHours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical are preferred), Engineering related field.Minimum 10 years of experience in project engineer - mechanical equipment installation.5+ years of manufacturing, R&D, operations related role.Use of steel toed shoes - required.Proficiency in working with:AutoCad and/or SolidWorksMicrosoft Office Excel, Word, Power Point, ProjectOpen to learning budget software management tools: SAP, Coupa, TungstenProficient troubleshooting skillsBasic understanding and/or open to learn about motors, VFD's, electrical panels, etc.Ability to read and understand schematics.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work with minimal supervision and function effectively in a highly demanding environment.Ability to interact effectively with outside vendors, production operators, team leads, and the maintenance trades.What extra ingredients you will bring:Strong technical background and rigor to design unique engineering solutions.Champion culture of safety, sanitation, and operations in all engineering designs.Methodological approach to creating documents that fit for purpose (SOP, OPL)Agile mindset to simply operations utilizing tools from IL6S (5S, Process Mapping, CTQ, CTP, etc.)
