**As a Chemist you will LEAD by.**
We are seeking a professional like you to be a member of the Precious Metal Chemicals (PMC) and Refining Group based at our Seneca SC site. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing product and process optimization projects for the business as well as producing products in the sites Small Orders Production Area. Potential projects consist of new product introduction and process optimization, cost reduction efforts. A strong focus will be on laboratory skills training of operations and engineering personnel. The PMC scope of these efforts can range from collaboration on initial lab development through scale up, plant demonstration. The Refining scope will focus mainly on process trouble shooting and process optimization.
**_In this role you will_**
+ Work on producing PMC products, new product introduction, process optimization and process troubleshooting.
+ Identify and evaluate best practices for both the PMC and Refinery operations.
+ Generate ideas on how to achieve production targets through your familiarity with multiple related disciplines, technologies, and processes.
+ Address EHS requirements in your areas of responsibility with the goal of meeting standards for Zero Incident and Zero Loss of Containment Mindsets.
+ Collaborate to complete process optimization, plant trials requiring effective interaction with multiple groups including Production, Product Management, Process Technology and EHS for scale-up of new products, improved manufacturing processes of existing products or processes.
+ Maintain technical accountability, develop, and communicate detailed process improvement proposals, communicate, and present process trial results, and lead the completion of projects of responsibility.
+ Provide laboratory skills training to the site PMC and Refinery technical and operations resources.
+ Collaborate with global precious metal and refining technical resources during plant trials and project meetings.
**Your elements for success**
+ _Bachelors degree in Chemistry or a related field required_
+ _A minimum of 5 years of chemical experience including having worked in a manufacturing environment required_
+ _Experience in precious metals or inorganic chemistry required_
+ _Familiarity in scale up concepts and chemical manufacturing support required_
+ _The ability to self-lead and drive innovation_
+ _Strong attention to detail and effective record keeping skills_
+ _Strong communication skills and experience communicating at various levels within an organization_
+ A commitment to quality and workplace health and safety
