*Position Description:*
The R D Engineer Level 1 will conduct research in the areas of molecular and diagnostic projects. They will assist with performing basic including, but not limited to, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry analyses, in vitro drug efficacy studies, etc. Responsibilities include cell culture and characterization, standard molecular biology techniques (PCR, RNA extractions, amplification, and purification), and coordinating interactions with other labs. Duties also include maintaining laboratory infrastructure, sourcing and procuring supplies, documenting protocols, supervision and training of students on equipment and laboratory techniques. The ability to independently create new optimized protocols (and for new instrumentation), evaluate their feasibility, maintain organized records, give advice to PIs on these designs is essential.
