- Own and audit supplier quality systems, ensuring capability and compliance.
- Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
- Conduct on-site supplier audits, tooling reviews, and PPAP approvals.
- Manage Supplier Excellence Recognition and certification processes.
- Provide technical feedback to buyers on cost estimates and supplier capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering on design control, drawing releases, and quality reviews.
- Address non-conformances using Root Cause Corrective Action and support Built-in Quality and Pre-Delivery Inspection processes.
- Own multiple suppliers and their performance across locations.
- Collaborate with suppliers to assure proper process control standards are in place.
- Ensure suppliers have adequate training, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
- Provide technical support during start-up activities and ongoing strategic support.
- Monitor suppliers' adherence to Process Change Notification on a timely basis.
- Provide resolution for quality problems associated with purchased materials, logistics, and engineering issues.
- Support and participate in 6 Sigma initiatives with suppliers.
- Participate in the development of supplier metrics and monthly gathering and distribution of measurements.
- Coordinate with engineering personnel on matters regarding Concurrent Product and Process Development, New Product Introduction, and Continuous Process Improvement.
- Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- 57 years of experience in manufacturing quality, especially in wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, or bus bars.
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality systems.
- Experience with supplier evaluations, certifications, and auditing.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes such as wire cutting, terminal crimping, braiding, testing.
- Familiarity with technologies like Ethernet, coax, high voltage, and battery electric systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across global teams.
- Prior experience with heavy equipment manufacturers.
- Familiarity with design control and engineering change management.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams on Continuous Process Improvement or New Product Introduction projects.
- Certifications such as CQE (ASQ), CSCP (APICS), or CMfgE.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and virtual collaboration tools.
