The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of evaluation and testing of x-ray contrast agents, as well as nanoparticle synthesis via microfluidic methods. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities may include designing and conducting experiments, mentoring students, maintaining equipment, analyzing data, writing manuscripts and writing grant applications.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to gain research experience in imaging or image-guided therapy topics, will further develop skills in collaborative research, and will have the potential for independent research and be funded by a sponsored program. They will receive mentorship in grant writing and grant proposals suitable for early-stage academic investigators.
