- Full Time
Employment Type: Permanent Staff (EHRA NF)
Vacancy ID: NF0009099
Position Summary/Description:
The position entails defining the biochemical and molecular signaling events mediated by two distinct types of molecules; namely 1) AIM2 and 2) the CD4 and CD8 coreceptor molecules. Studies will be carried out to determine how AIM2 interacts with different biochemical signaling pathways, in particular the PI3K/AKT pathway. Immune effectors such as T cells and dendritic cells will be examined. For the second set of analyses, work will be carried out to define the biochemical and transcriptional signaling events induced by antibody binding to CD4/CD8 that modulate the pathogenicity of autoreactive T cells. Both sets of analyses will entail measurement of biochemical and transcriptional signaling events via flow cytometry, immunoblot, quantitative PCR, and gene microarrays.Education and Experience:
Minimum four years of work experience with the scientific method and experimental design and interpretation is necessary. The position also requires quantitative biological and chemical expertise and experience using flow cytometry, immunoblot, quantitative PCR, and gene microarrays, which could be obtained during the course of study for a PhD and/or during the 4 years of work experience required.AA/EEO Statement:
The University is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes all to apply without regard to age, color, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
