Laboratory Manager Position Summary
The Laboratory Manager demonstrates clinical and technical expertise and is responsible for the management and supervision of the department. This position requires the knowledge and skills necessary to provide direction to the department, oversee the safety of its employees, meet the regulations that are required to maintain our laboratory's certifications, and ensure optimal specimen processing and quality testing is provided to meet the needs of our customers.
Laboratory Manager Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Scientist with Master's Degree or specialty certification preferred.
Experience
- 5 years' related work experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience such as Senior Technologist or Senior Technical Specialist, or comparable supervisory experience preferred.
Laboratory Manager Work Schedule
- Routinely works day shift, Monday through Friday.
- Expected to work in times of staffing shortages, emergencies, disasters, and unexpected increases in workload.
- Expected to provide professional time, advice, and expertise as necessary to ensure quality laboratory service.
- May be required to be on-duty for extended periods of time during emergency situations including computer downs.
